GoSkydive

We built a website as thrilling as the jump itself — and it's been converting first-timers into skydivers ever since.

GoSkydive had something genuinely extraordinary to offer — a tandem skydive experience accessible to almost anyone, from age 16 to 95. The challenge wasn’t the product; it was the perception. Potential customers were excited but nervous, curious but hesitant.

They needed a website that could hold their hand through the fear, paint a vivid picture of the experience, and make booking feel like the obvious next step. On top of that, GoSkydive were investing seriously in paid search, organic SEO, and Facebook ads — so the new site had to work hard in the rankings, not just look good on screen.

Discovery

Before a single pixel was placed, we dug into the data. The numbers told a clear story: the overwhelming majority of GoSkydive’s visitors were arriving on mobile devices. That insight shaped everything that followed.

We brought in local UX specialist Ru Butler to lead the research phase, mapping out user journeys, identifying anxieties, and defining what information people needed — and in what order — to go from curious visitor to confirmed booking. The content hierarchy and navigation that emerged from this process put the ‘Experience’ front and centre, because that’s what people were really buying.

Bold, bespoke, and built for conversion

With mobile-first wireframes signed off, we pushed the design well beyond convention. Rather than leaning into tired “extreme sport” clichés — neon colours, aggressive typography, stock shots of people screaming — we took a more confident, aspirational direction.

A bespoke grid layout with very few repeating templates gave each page its own energy, while GoSkydive’s own stunning photography and a professionally produced homepage video did the heavy lifting emotionally. The result was a site that felt premium and trustworthy, while still capturing the raw excitement of throwing yourself out of a plane at 15,000 feet.

A collaborative approach to development

The site was built on Bootstrap and integrated into a WordPress CMS, giving the GoSkydive team the flexibility to manage content day-to-day without needing a developer on speed dial.

We worked closely with development partners Get Unified throughout the build, ensuring the technical execution matched the design ambition. SEO was baked in from the ground up – working alongside GoSkydive’s search team to protect high-performing pages during migration and set up the new site to rank even better than before. Social sharing was also woven into the experience, giving customers a frictionless way to tell their friends about their jump the moment they landed.

An ongoing development programme

We got under the skin of the brand from the outset and continually championed the user experience. Migration to the new live site had instant success: greater conversion rates, higher purchasing and better engagement with users spending significantly more time on the site. To deliver the best possible results for GoSkydive we have an ongoing development programme with regular meetings to update ideas and keep the website fresh. Each major release is A/B tested and monitored through user stats, providing GoSkydive with proven return on investment.
